It's fun having a hard hitting 2h weapon and just using roll to avoid damage in between counter attacking, but in a closed in area a 1h and shield can be much easier to handle.

Sure there are 'best' weapons for certain situations or enemies but a lot of it depends on what play style you want to go with.
