Your roof might all be barely within the structural integrity required to stay intact, but the part that's breaking might be connected to some floor and walls that aren't touching the ground. Mouse over the parts with the build hammer and if the floor pieces aren't blue, it's not touching the ground.

And note that different types of supports are more effective than others. Normal wood beams aren't as effective as core wood logs or iron reinforced beams.
