Uh, you can get troll raids throughout the whole game, man. As long as you've killed at least one troll and the Elder.

You can, but does not mean you will. I cleared up through Yagluth last world and I got only 2-3 troll raids. Even then all you do is run out and away from your base.

Also trolls in any biome other than meadows and forest would fight the local mobs.
