I built my main base at the top of a very tall mountain for aesthetic purposes. Getting metal up there isn’t the easiest thing but none of the base destructive raids can ever occur there and the raids that do occur are pretty easy since my base covers a lot of the flat land in the area.

In terms of pure usefulness, probably not the best place to build it, but damn is it in a cool location.
