I agree 100%. For me, the only way this game is playable is with mods since the modders have made Valheim interesting, fun and less of a time suck and irritation. Valheim unmodded has low stamina, limited building options, limited plants and animals, lousy storage sizes, etc.).
Player, at least those like me, play this game for the building component seeking a fabulous place to relax after the day's stress. The modders provide options for creativity while also giving players options for adjusting the stamina, portal limitations and giving greater storage capacity. Modders give the game life by offering those amazing features plus new building materials and decorative items as well, which, thanks to the recurring updates, are broken.
Valheim Devs may be working very hard on different projects, but they are forgetting that people, and I would surmise, mainly solo players or co-op players, are their main player base. The delays with Mistlands (from their main roadmap) and the focus on crossplay makes me believe they are more interested in making more sales than finishing the game they already promised to those who have already purchased it.
Their continuing focus on fixing non-relevant stuff ( boss or troll hair, maypoles and dandelion headpiece) is perhaps a sign that they have no intention of creating new content/biomes, and have chosen to seek out new players and $$ through this new cross-play stuff. That is, of course, their choice. I would prefer they just say the game is finished and stop with the "oh look, we made a new wooden thingy with a head on it" and call that new content. It's not.
The game is lovely however, for many of us, modders make it playable. Please stop with the frivolous update that break stuff.all.the.time.
Thanks for letting me share my feelings. I'm off to play Grounded now.
