moder feels like a must, or you are hard locked out of the tears for your station.
there were a few map seeds people used to give out with all bosses to plains on the main island.
if I had moder and iron, I think I could do pretty well.
its not too hard to get a continent that goes all the way to a pole, depending on how you feel about crossing rivers or swimming a small amount. Its a lot more doable if you just say 'no boats'.
