I have the same issue.

Game was working fine last night but now crashes on startup since today's update was installed.

things I've tried.
removed mods. always the first thing I try.
chenged Betas setting back to 'none' from 'old_stable' (which fixed the crashing caused by the Sept.28 update)
had Steam verifi the files
tried starting game from both inside Steam UI and desktop shortcut.
