You can only raise/lower ground a total of 8 meters from where the terrain started. If the water raises more than 8 meters above the starting terrain in that area no amount of raising ground will assure that your lodge is always out of water when there are waves.you're the only one who understood what I was asking about. This is what I'm trying; are you saying it will work? Try pushing the shoreline further with raising ground and it should prevent storm waves to reach the base.
To check, you can place 2 vertical, 4 meter, core wood poles on top of each other and watch to see if they stay above water 100% of the time. If they do you can deconstruct the lodge, raise the terrain, and rebuild the lodge in that spot.
I like to be able to sail ore to my meadows base with a long boat so I build "near" the coast, build a dock into the water that can be underwater part of the time. I usually build a boat house near the water but out of flood level with storage so I can move ore from the ship to chests and then load the ore from the chests into a cart to take it to the main lodge.
This is a work in progress but you can get the idea.
