It would be nice if we got an option to limit bringing in existing characters & items. I'm thinking it probably won't ever happen, if it does it will be much later but time will tell...

In the mean time, the only way around that is to play on servers with people you trust who want the same thing you do. They're out there, it's just a matter of finding them, places to look would be the Discord or the subforum here.
