Another thing I noticed with Mistlands and not anywhere else is you cannot level a rocky area then cultivate it. I guess you have to extend from a grassy already that already exists.

I had a base where I was putting my garden on the shoreline as someone suggested. So I hammered the rocks away and then filled it in smooth with dirt/rock/ Then when I tried to cultivate the spot it said not allowed.
