I know you say "non modded" in your post, but if you ever feel like giving mods a shot, there are several that offer a nice array of extra building pieces.

OdinArchitect is great.
BuiltIt and CLutter both have nice pieces, but if someone loads onto your world without the mod, anything built with them disappear.

There are a few others, too.
