Chains are a pita, tar can be difficult if you explored a lot before h&h, and late game resin is a real pain. Not that getting resin is hard, but it is derived from cutting a lot of wood and if your building slows late game when you have built your bases adequately, then you don't have to cut as much...resin runs low if you use the resin burning lighting sources. Which you probably will since they don't have to be vented like the coal burners.
Leather and some of the above "easy" resources are running out of your ears by then.
