Listening to what they said, the initial EA release's unexpected popularity revealed a lot of bugs, and bug-fixing delayed work on H&H. I suspect they also made some changes to the framework.

I also heard that they are still in the planning stages of Mistlands. They want to add a new mechanic to make it substantially different from other biomes, so don't expect it soon.
