As near as I can tell though, you only get raided while in or very near a base. And it has to have enough campfires,workbenches, torches and or a bed to qualify as a base. No idea what those parameters are. Theoretically, one could just be a nomad and stay in pre-made shacks and you shouldn't see a raid then. JUst the normal traffic from spawns/nests/body piles etc....
Most raids are centered around a "base". Base being defined as 3 structures such as campfire/workbench/bed. I don't think walls and fences count for that though.

Some raids like the Wolf Hunt event are designed to be away from base. Wolf hunts specifically only happen when you are outside of a base in the Mountains or Plains.

There is another "blob" event!?! Not sure never had it and unsure if it is a base raid or open world raid.
