Yes. Everything inside the bubble is safe. I usually build a fort near it, as I would imagine most people do, but I'll also clear out as many trees/rocks/nodes nearby as possible because it's free defense. Greydwarves will stick around if you're there, but they wont mess with anything in the bubble. Wish he would sell me the plans to make those magic stones for my own shields.
