Defending your home is missing from this game especially with the events.....what? The invasion events are specifically centered around your home as the enemies come forth to attack it/you. So defending against an invasion is not missing, what you really want is different toys for those 2 minute events. Some you can come up with on your own (making ooze bombs for instance, pretty close to those oil pots you want) and you have a bow already. As noted, you can dig a pit and put stakes in it, that's already there. Are you sure you're not really asking for a siege game or something? Because this ain't really that though you can be creative and work out some options to emulate one--when an event occurs, anyway.
