Ok so the other day I had a boat get stuck 6 foot above the water. I parked it on the water. wen through a portal and when i cam back it was stuck in mid air touching nothing.

I had to build a structure above it then jump on it to make it fall back into the water...

Then the same boat parked in the same place a couple of hours later exploded for no reason with no mobs near it, it was not hitting the ground in a storm and was not hitting a structure and it just spontaneously died as I was running towards it. (it was full health before this). I was lucky i was able to collect the materials and rebuild it but still.

You are not alone frank this is definitely a current bug.
