Think your missing the best part of the game. Building stuff. If your don't rush to kill all the bosses, you can keep building in and around your meadowlands based realitively undisturbed. I plant my own trees there and even when I chop wood at night, I only get maybe 3 greydwarves coming around. If you haven't beaten too many bosses, you can simply ignore raids. Helps to have a moat and towers. I have a network of them all tied together by rooftop paths that connect my buildings.

The game is not an RPG. Other than you are role playing the main charactor. I find there is plenty to dao between growing carrots, fermenting mead, having a boar farm in pits (for fun) not because I need the meat). Got my bees tended and brewing my soup. It just might not be your game. But 100 hours is good value even so.
