Johnny Silverhand replied to Why can Draugrs (and others) still shoot arrows/attack while completely underwater? December 12, 2022 @ 7:30:57 pm PST
I totally agree, this is very well put. Also the realism argument is so easily deconstructed once you go deeper into the subject, like a sturd longboat with thick wooden planks could not be sunk with crude bow and arrow, not even with a sword, atleast not by hitting it with the blade. Thenk using a bow underwater massively reduces kinetic energy and slowing the arrow down so it can only travel very small distances.I suppose its the fact that your alive and need to breathe, and draugrs and skeletons and such don't need to breathe?
I have to agree with Mr Silverhand.
"Realism" especially as it applies to fantasy worlds and concepts, is absolutely useless in video games.
Doesn't sound like there's much you can do about this so that makes it bad design. I'm not even to this part of the game and it's already sounding disappointing, like why even build a ship.
Like most issues with this game it seems mods will have to solve the problem.
The community is committed to enabling the slow and terribly guided development of this game so guess there's not much else to say besides hope some modder fixes it or already has.
I see no reason for the devs to ruin fun for the sake of realism aswell, its worse enough that shooting four arrows in a row exhausts you as much as sprinting 500m. Sure games still in EA but things like stamina and enemys with bloated HP need better balancing.
