I've mined in the mountains for a long time and was only attacked by a single wolf and a single drake. Meanwhile in the Moder boss battle, I was constantly attacked by wolves (no drakes though). Everytime I killed them, more would spawn and attack me. The area was even clear before I summoned Moder. So... I think you're wrong. The only way this all could happen was if she was spawning wolves in the boss battle.

I've killed Moder five times now. Not a single time did I have to deal with wolves during the fight. She doesn't summon wolves, you've just either missed a spot or two or are really really unlucky with the spawns.
