I 'walked' up the fish tech ladder by simply walking along any shoreline where the fish are a jumpin'. Gotten all the way up to Size#5 and I never take the rod out anymore or waste the time/bait...on that mechanic, as the walking mechanic does exactly the same thing when done near water and fish jumping.
