IDK if it's cheese but throwing the spear staggers a seeker and a follow up hit kills it. If they are in your face the spear bounces right back into your hand. I don't think it's cheese because you're throwing your weapon away and if you miss that's skill issue.

Other ways I deal with uneven terrain: mace secondary uppercut and 1h axe secondary overhead chop. They connect easily but will only do half damage if they also hit the terrain (usually does).
