Bronze - depends on how much finewood I was able to get by knocking trees into each other. If I still need portals right away I will make the ax first... if not then pickax.

Iron - pickax first then shield. With those two I can start to go to the mountains for silver

Silver - Chest armor for freeze resistance.

Flax - meh I don't worry about it until the yag fight so everything pretty much by that point.
