While old worlds and their mistland areas can be converted and added to, fresh generation was recommended as results might not be the best. Playing Valheim over and over is part of the fun, that it can be grindy, but relaxing, curiously interesting, and beautiful. But others may just get bored at having to grind or repeat stuff again, and so just want to get straight to the new content with a geared up old character. And so it depends on what you'd like to do.

Thanks! That was the type of response I was hoping for, and I understand your point. I usually enjoy starting over with each update, but this time I wasn't sure.

Ha well, just recall the new content is the next latest biome in the progression, so could be a while before you get to enjoy it, but as long as you have enjoyed playing the rest of the game over again, you should be good. It was a pretty beefy update with a biome's worth of content, all of which is pretty distinct from the other biomes. Mistlands will be having you form new love/hate relationships with the 10th world.
