Because it's the reasonable thing to do. Hiring an outside company to port the game to other platforms will increase the playerbase and not affect the content development to any larger extent. Why wouldn't they invest in such a way? ..there's also not any reason to mention scam since it's not anywhere close to it, except for in the heads of a specific portion of the playerbase.

Why don't you educate yourself in the matter before jumping to conclusions?
