I know i lucked out with the 2 caves, which were practically next to each other, on my very first newly discovered mountain range. Its peak, though, was absurdly noticeable. Like its high above the Black Forest trees.

As for clearing those caves, i was quite in the bag at that point so i'm fairly certain i missed quite a bit. Also, i have the rest of the range to explore which is fantastic. Don't wanna get too distracted from building my base though.
