What you want is a different kind of game. Where you would, say, raid Christians in England or rival vikings. That would be a completely different kind of game without mythological creatures like trolls, goblins and undead too.

You mean like the serie Vikings itself? Or where you refering to a series based on Valheim lore, wich would be good yeah.

I think the reverse is true as well. A valheim like game situated in Midgard(but on a rgm) with different viking bands, Christians(of various origins) and Eastern European peoples across the map would be good too. Could even make it into an MMO where you can choose your faction. The creature foes would be a bit underwhelming though, only bears would come close to certain valheim heavy hitters.

I think OP is on the right track, this game is just not what he is looking for.
