i started a run without killing bosses. so far had a similar experience as OP. but after about 10 swamps without finding any iron (the first 6 didn't even have crypts and were big enough that they should have spawned) i finally killed an ooze that dropped one single piece. kinda lost my patience & put that run on hold. what was your end game? yagluth?
