Hopefully Devs see this, its a pain in the ass to just sit there and watch them tame. And clearing out mobs spooks them pausing their tame rate for like 2 mins. This feature needs a simple work around. It would be better if you could throw it meat walk away and go explore or dungeon raiding and comeback to a tamed beast. They would need to work that into the logic of the game like Mob here, food nearby, conditions met, start taming process. bro i kid you not, i spent about 3-4 hours yesterday, trying to tame a lox because respawning low tier mobs (boars, deer, necks, greylings) kept spawning around the pen i made for it.
if it wasn't the mobs triggering it, it was my presence as i tried to clear them out.
had to repair and rebuild parts of the pen up to 11 times before my first lox was finally tamed, and it broke free and tried to run off (chasing a deer) at least twice, which was frustrating af.
for my 2nd lox i decided to make a double layered pen wall, but that didn't stop the lox from getting triggered by low tier mobs spawning both inside and outside the pen, which increased tame time quite significantly.
imo the taming mechanic is the worst designed part of the game.
boars are easy to tame, it doesn't take too long and they don't require that much space, which means there's a smaller chance they'll be constantly spooked by new spawns.
wolves aren't that bad either since mountains biome is largely empty of mobs (with the exception of drakes) but the time it takes to tame one is pretty sleep inducing.
the lox is by far the major sinner, it takes a very long time to tame them even with no enemy presence, but once you add constant (buggy?) respawn rates into the mix, it gets really really bothersome.
i even built the taming pen in meadows (next to the plains biome) to make it as easy as possible, but once i did that the spawnrates of mobs just went berserk for some reason.
I also noticed that mobs spawn rates exploded. insane amount of boars, lizards, deer, and goblins. Freaking lox would go berserk at everything and breakout.
