Yeah , should be multiple alters for each boss. One boss per biome. Killing bosses will introduce new raid events that will become increasingly difficult. Several plays in with a group now, and on our current server we have not killed any bosses. Just working on bases in each biome.

Have the best weapons and armor you can craft for each new boss(biome) for best odds, and with a bit of trial and error you should be ok.
