Although a slight pain, you could park it in shallows and just deconstruct it and keep the parts in a secure chest close to the shoreline. 100% guarantee to not lose the ship or the parts.I'd rather the chance of this happening be 0% than my particular problem be sorted. I 100% agree that I shouldn't end posts this way but my other threads tend to go that way so I thought I'd get it out the way first lol. First, if you are trying to get help, I wouldn't end the post the way you did.
Anyhow, are you certain there aren't any boulders underneath that it's hitting as waves come in?
An unseen event swimming up close to it?
Are you running mods?
I don't believe the rising and falling tides and slow damage ticks over time to be the culprit here - at least not all 3 times. I had just recently built the boat. If just having a longship parked by the shore can destroy it in a few ingame days, then something should be reworked. Maybe just allow us to drag the ship onto land (in a way similar to the cart, not by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pushing it, sick of that as a solution to problems too lol) to prevent tide damage, if that really is a thing.
Can the boats be given a 'run down' or 'wreck' state, which can be repaired or restored or at least salvaged, before just straight up disintegrating? At least when it happens so close to my base? I had just built the longship and I am still in the relative early game and 10 iron isn't especially cheap right now. It's happened so many times now. It's gonna make me so paranoid that I'll only ever park the boat 100 metres out and just swim to it lol.
Personally have never ran into that problem. I've had some sit there at the dock a long time and only have to be repaired of slight damage due to storms.
