Ehhh, during medieval castle sieges on walls, soldiers could definitely shoot their bows directly downwards, which was my point. It's really difficult to aim a bow of any real poundage at your feet.
If you're homeless, just get a home. Similar logic, really. Don't beach yourself I guess.
Look, it's one thing when you have to be careful sailing because it's foggy or that there's a storm or something, it's another when your ship suddenly goes to a halt because you hit a roof of a house that is underwater. Again, no problem if I have to push the boat out or reverse. The problem is when you have to do it while being shot at from deep underwater, and there's no way of fighting back. The structures are often just barely sticking up enough to stop the ship, but not high enough that you can see them from afar or high enough to build a workbench for repairs. Often just high enough that tides can put you from standing to swimming, abruptly unequipping what you had. You can't really upgrade the long ship either to have an increased hp. IIRC draugrs with bows deal around 60 per shot. Longships only have 1000 hp, so 2 bow draugrs can literally sink your ship in just 10 shots or less. It's unfair that you can't fight back. Oh btw, shooting arrows into the water also has the problem of adjusting shots being near impossible since you can't see the trail of your arrows that moment they hit the water. Everything is simply stacked against you when enemies are shooting from underwater.
