You don't even need to kill Bonemass or Moder. If you are not going to kill Yag until mistlands drops, you really don't need padded just for the villages. Padded from previous biome experience should be the transition to Mistlands level armor anyway.

With experience you don't need the wishbone to find silver.. so all you really need to raid villages and get tokens is the Elder for the iron key. Use the iron to get wolf and that is all you need to enter the plains safely.
