I don't even wear metal chest or legs. Wearing maxed out Troll Leather chest and legs will give you max speed and you will be taking far less hits, especially if you are using a dagger or spear as your weapon.

But the thing is, this game is based on a game where you die in 3 or so hits, so you are always going to have to learn exactly how to dodge all attacks of all enemies no matter what.

Currently, the maximum speed set would be the Fenris Armor set not troll leather.

As has already been pointed out, your assumption was wrong and it didnt need to be any assumption if you managed to look at the stats after crafting.... that's squarely on you.

It isn't an issue of the devs. The stats and upgrades are as intended. This was a user end issue.
