You can come across abandoned settlements in the meadows. Several houses close to eachother wih strawberry bushes nearby. They are fixer uppers. Easy to patch up if you have trouble building your own. Build fences and/or a trench around the plot.

Or clear out a drauger infested village and you even have a nice big center house
