I think Flesh Rippers are pretty good as is. They buff your "Fists" skill and they don't slow you down so you can run with them active. Since they affect your unarmed skill it also affects the unarmed kick (MMB for me) which is good for enemies slightly below you that may be hard to hit. They are hilarious vs Greydwarves. Only downside is they are two-handed so no shield and their block power isn't great.
