I mean if you are finishing up prep for Bonemass then you should have had a longboat by now... why even bother with the karve?

I keep a small chest by my dock that's labeled "Karve" and has nails, deer hide, resin, and fine wood. So if I'm going somewhere that I need the big boat I'll sail there, but if I just need a karve I'll grab the contents of that box, head through a portal or jump to another server, and then build the karve on site. When I'm done I just stand on the mast and hack it with an axe to get all the parts back and put them away again.
