I've been using mods. Creatures now not only drop magical loot and ingredients but also are enchanted themselves, plus there are new mini bosses to fight too. Add to that the Trader will sell treasure maps and have bounties with a unique cash system as a reward to gamble on non ID items.

There's a lot the developer can do, it remains to be seen what they will do.
