It depends how far you have advanced in the game. If you are far enough to where the swamp isn't that dangerous then make a base in the swamp. I have a swamp house. I only use it when I go to the swamp to harvest blood bags and entrails and stuff. But the house is pretty cool and makes for some great screenshots.
