You download the mod "Upgrade World" when it is ready for the new version of course.
With the mod you can regenerate whole areas. After that you can remove the mod again and use the world normally.

ive been mostly staying in the center i didnt go too far i only been in 2 biomes can it only regenerate areas that are unexplored? but it prob wont be necessary since it will do that on its own after the update as long as i didnt explore the entire map and didn't explore every biome
