Sounds like you are blaming your lack of preparation and caution and also skill (greydwarves are ♥♥♥♥ tier enemies that you can probably beat unarmed) on the recent update and the devs.

Greydwarves don't even spawn at night in meadows until you have killed the first boss and even then they don't spawn as groups, which means you were too close to the Black Forest and you attracted a group.
