The game is ment for coop/close friends. Not for normal multiplayer servers and the like, and as you saw what the problem is with it.

Just play singleplayer, and mabye play it with a friend or 2.
Theres no reason to play on that server you talked about.
But you could take all the stuff you have gathered, and moved to a singleplayer world.
