No, it’s definitely more closed group based. 99% of the “community” servers on the server list are passworded. Most people enjoy the experience by themselves or with friends only. But it would definitely ruin the experience in my opinion to play a public server similar to Minecraft or Rust etc as the progression of your world and your character are directly linked so joining a world with a character ahead or behind the world progress would ruin immersion and gameplay.
