Yeah that's what I was thinking in terms of acquiring the materials you would probably have enough iron for a set before getting enough roots, and I just don't see the other benefits being worth sacrificing the ability to take more hits even for a stealthy build, at least if you are playing solo.

Well if you are the kind of player that memorizes enemy attack patterns and have parrying down to perfection so you never get hit you could make it work.

That isn't me though. Ha ha ha.
