Well I suppose if you are one of those folks who put up their xmas tree xmas eve it isn't.

Most people who celebrate Halloween in the USA are quick to change over to Thanksgiving stuff after Halloween... and plenty of people even have xmas stuff already for Thanksgiving.

"The day of" hardly applies when it comes to decoration for the event. It is more the final day of it on the actual day!

My community actually has a decoration contest and gives out awards for best houses... they actually held the contest LAST weekend!!

This is normal for this event.
I get it though, Europeans just don't know how it works.
