Apparently you have never heard of flint knapping, which is most commonly done with an antler.

another common material used was Birch Branches, as soft as it is, it still was used for knapping .... i dabble here and there with knapping, been designing a Kukri influenced knife currently although i'm not sure i have the skill level to pull it off. personally i use a stubby phillips #8 screwdriver lol, works rather well actually.
