If you set up a base in the meadows typically clearing all the trees in the surrounding area can help you easily spot what wildlife is in the area, usually time consuming to go on a strict animal hunt where trees are concerned and you dont always get much anyways.
All deer and boar kills I get are just casually as im going about other business and run into them. You can get more than what you need that way usually as long as your saving what you acquire for necessities rather than leather armor upgrades
