I am not aware of any viking engineers like the ones Europe had to build cathedrals a little later in history .This was always marketed as a viking adventure game not a building game

Also, they don't fight magical creatures and other unrealistic threats, it's a game and each of us can build whatever we want if we feel like it, because the game allows us to do so.
