Fairly certain some new biomes or terrain was added that required you to use new worlds/seeds or somesuch just before I stopped playing and yes I looked at the heart n home update so I know about those new building blocks/tiles etc but was wondering if there was anymore than have been added since?

No new biomes have been added since the release of the game.
After the Hearth and Home update, no new content was added either.
Of all the new content for the year, we only have the half-finished Hearth and Home update.
