Fellow Vikings - The devs have clearly stated that ore will not be allowed in portals for various reasons (Regarding ores through portals). As other users have pointed out, mods exist to make this possible if you're allergic to sailing.

I suggest thinking of other creative transportation solutions to suggest to the devs as opposed to beating your heads against the "ore vs portals" argument over and over again.
